Choosing is probably the hardest part of babywearing. The main things consider are:

1. When and where do you think you will want to use it, and for how long?

2. Which position you naturally like to carry your baby in?

Do you want something . . . . . . ?

· Easy to learn to use, that you can pop your baby in and out of?

· Choose a Sling, Pouch, Wrap or Hip Carrier. However, all are quickly easy to use once you have had a few days to get used to them.

· That distributes the weight evenly for longer carries?

· Choose a Wrap, Asian Inspired Carrier or Soft Structured Carrier

· For a newborn that can be used for breastfeeding?

· Choose a Sling,  or possibly a Wrap, or  a  Pouch

· That looks fabulous to add to an expanding sling wardrobe?

· Choose a Funky Slings OnbuhimoBeco Baby Carrier,   Ellaroo Mei Tai,

· Ellaroo Organic Ring Sling or Simply Mei Tai

· That looks like something more ‘mainstream’ like you find on the high street?

· Choose a Soft Structured Carrier or Hip Carrier

· To share with your partner?

· Most are suitable for this—but best to avoid the pouches as these are quite finely sized to the adult
